CBCT 3D Scanning
Why it matters
Implant planning without 3D imaging is guesswork. The scan tells us exactly how much bone is available, where the inferior alveolar nerve runs, and how close the sinus sits, so the implant position is decided before surgery rather than during it.
It is also used to assess impacted wisdom teeth, to investigate root fractures and complex root canal anatomy, and to plan orthodontic cases involving unerupted teeth.
Having the scan
The scan takes under a minute, you stay standing or seated, and there is nothing in your mouth. The radiation dose is low, comparable to a short-haul flight, and considerably lower than a medical CT.
Patients of our Denmark clinic have their scans taken at Albany, which is a short drive along the highway and avoids a trip to Perth.
