Types of denture
- Full dentures replace a complete upper or lower arch, resting on the gum and ridge
- Partial dentures fill one or more gaps and clip onto the remaining natural teeth
- Immediate dentures are fitted on the day teeth are removed, so you are never without them
- Implant-retained dentures clip onto implants and do not move when you eat
Getting the fit right
A denture that does not fit is worse than no denture at all, so the process is deliberately unhurried: impressions, a bite registration, a wax try-in where you can see the shape and shade before anything is finalised, and then the fit.
Expect a follow-up adjustment or two in the first few weeks. Gums change shape as they settle and sore spots are normal at the beginning. Adjustments in that settling period are part of the service, not an extra.

Common questions
How long do dentures take to make?
Usually around three to four weeks across several appointments, depending on the laboratory and the complexity of the case.
How should I clean my dentures?
Brush them daily with a denture brush and a non-abrasive cleaner, never regular toothpaste, and soak them overnight. Rinse after meals. Leaving them dry warps the acrylic.
Can you repair a broken denture?
Yes. Many repairs can be turned around quickly. Do not attempt to glue it yourself, because household adhesives are toxic and make a professional repair much harder.
