Paying for treatment

Ways to pay, explained plainly

Cost is the reason most people put dental treatment off, so we would rather be direct about it. Here is every route we support, what each one suits, and where the catches are.

Health fund rebates

We are a preferred provider for HBF and NIB (and NIB Group funds) at our Yokine clinic, and for HBF in Albany. Preferred provider status means a higher rebate and a lower gap for you. We claim on the spot through HICAPS wherever your fund allows it.

Most funds reset annual limits on 1 January. If you have a limit sitting unused, it is worth booking before the end of the year.

Payment plans

Fund My Dental and Total Lifestyle Credit are designed specifically for dental treatment and suit larger plans such as implants, All-on-4 or full-mouth work. Approval is handled directly with the provider and our treatment coordinator can walk you through the application.

Terms, fees and interest are set by the provider, not by us. Read what you are signing.

Buy now, pay later

For smaller treatment plans, Afterpay, Zip Pay, Zip Money and humm let you spread the cost over shorter terms. These suit a crown, a set of fillings or a whitening course rather than a full arch of implants.

SuperCare and early release of super

In some circumstances the ATO allows early release of superannuation on compassionate grounds to pay for dental treatment. SuperCare manages that application process on your behalf, including the clinical reports required.

The decision rests with the ATO, not with us or with SuperCare. Allow several weeks, and do not book treatment on the assumption it will be approved.

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule

Many families are eligible for the CDBS, which covers a capped amount of basic dental services for eligible children over a two-year period. Ask us when you book and we will check the available balance for you.

Questions about cost

Will you tell me the cost before you start?

Yes. Our dentists quote up front, and for longer treatments such as implants, aligners or dentures you receive a complete written pricing form before anything begins.

Do you bulk bill or take Medicare?

Dental care is generally excluded from Medicare for adults. The exception is the Child Dental Benefits Schedule for eligible children, which we do process.

Can I split the cost across two health fund years?

For staged treatment, often yes. If your plan runs across a fund reset, we can sometimes sequence appointments so you draw on two years of limits. Ask our treatment coordinator when the plan is written.

Why is treatment in Albany priced differently to Perth?

Operating outside the metro area costs more: higher lab fees, transport for supplies, competitive salaries to attract and keep skilled staff, and fewer appointments across which to spread fixed costs. We would rather explain that than quietly charge metro prices and cut corners.

All prices are a guide only and are subject to change. Your dentist will confirm the cost of your treatment before it begins. Free consultations are available for Invisalign and dental implant treatments.
