Implants

What dental implants actually cost in Australia

A single restored implant starts at $3,999 at our Perth clinic. Here is what sits inside that number, what pushes it up, and why the cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest outcome.

Implant pricing is confusing because different clinics quote different parts of the same job. One practice quotes the fixture alone, another quotes the fixture, abutment and crown together, and the two numbers look nothing alike even though the treatment is identical.

The three parts you are paying for

An implant has three components, and each one is a separate cost. The fixture is the titanium screw placed into the bone. The abutment is the connector that sits on top of it. The crown is the visible tooth. A quote that only covers the first of those is not a quote for a finished tooth.

  • Single dental implant, unrestored: $2,400
  • Crown and abutment: $2,500
  • Single dental implant, fully restored: $3,999

When you compare quotes, the only fair comparison is the fully restored figure. Ask every clinic you speak to for the price of a finished, chewing tooth.

What pushes the price up

The most common addition is bone. If the tooth has been missing long enough for the ridge to resorb, there may not be enough bone to hold an implant, and a graft or a sinus lift has to build the site up first. That is why a CBCT scan happens before a quote rather than after it: it is the only way to know.

The other addition is the extraction itself, if the failing tooth is still in place, and any temporary tooth you need in the gap while the implant integrates.

Why the cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest outcome

The Australian Dental Association strongly urges Australians to have implant surgery in Australia rather than travelling for it. The savings look real until something needs adjusting, and then the follow-up, the warranty and the accountability are all on the other side of a flight.

Every implant consultation at our Yokine clinic is complimentary and includes a CBCT scan, so you leave with a written quote based on your actual anatomy rather than an average.
